Einstein is known to the world as one of the greatest scientists of all time whose Theory of Relativity and devising the formula for the speed of light had left the scientific world with revolutionary new ideas in the 20th century to research upon. Albert Einstein was born in Germany but had moved to America and lived there till his death in 1955. He was born Jewish and learned to play the violin at home while attending school as well.

Einstein’s research and development in the field of the Theory of Relativity also opened doors for the Atomic Bomb that was created during the Second World War.
Unlike popular myth, Einstein always received good grades in school and had only failed once in an entrance exam at the Polytechnic Institute to get trained as an electrical engineer.
He was unpopular with his teachers because he found the classes in school and university to be boring. Einstein was clearly a genius and his level of intelligence and knowledge was much higher than the academics of school. He is said to have been familiar with college level physics when he was only eleven.
Einstein was also proficient in Latin and Greek and received good grades in them as well.
He had been fascinated with science from a very early age and had a curious mind questioning the functioning and laws of nature.
Einstein’s speech developed at a much later age, (around four) which had worried his parents in the initial years.
The Einstein Syndrome, a term coined by Stanford Economist Dr Thomas Sowell was made on the basis of a condition found in exceptionally bright children whose speech usually develops at a much advanced age.
He was fond of Mozart and played the Violin till the last few years of his life. It was his way of relaxation and even thinking. He is even known to have played it at social gatherings and during Christmas carols.
He developed a love for sailing when he was enrolled at the Polytechnic Institute in Zurich and is often reported to have spent time on a boat pulled into the lake and with a notebook. Einstein used these moments for relaxation and thinking.
It was in 1905 that Einstein wrote his famous paper on the Theory of Relativity that contained two hypotheses. Later that year, he also proved the equation of mass and energy.
Einstein was an excessive smoker. In 1950, Einstein was noted to have stressed on the calm and objective judgment arising out of pipe smoking.

The genius that he is still considered till date, Einstein died due to the bursting of a blood vessel in 1955 at the age of 74. Einstein was cremated and his ashes scattered ‘“ these were his last wishes. An autopsy was conducted by Thomas Harvey at Princeton Hospital before Einstein was cremated. He is reported to have cut up his brain and kept it for research. Not having received permission, Harvey had also been fired for his research wishes. The brain was returned much later in 1988 to Princeton Hospital’s pathology department.
