DMeX system is Sony’s new system or technology that enables their Bravia line of television sets to interface or link with other forms of digital media through its external USB port located at the back of these sets. DM stands for digital media and the “eX” pertains to the external module or link support for various other devices that can be interfaced with the television screen. The DMex system has a corresponding button on the TV’s remote control and it will automatically load the digital information regardless of what media or module is used.
Sony Bravia’s DMex system is compatible with various external devices including the video internet module. Through this module that is attached to the external USB port of the Sony Bravia TV set, videos that are available in internet sites like YouTube may be viewed on the TV screen. Television shows and movies that are streamed online may also be viewed via the internet video link module on the DMex system. This particular DMeX module requires an ethernet connection to be up and running in order to allow the internet video streaming.
Aside from the internet video module, Sony Bravia’s DMeX system can also link up with an HDMI Input module. Many devices available in the market today are now equipped with HDMI connections and these include DVD players and recorders, gaming consoles, and other home theater devices or accessories. Through the HDMI link module, people can easily use various HDMI-ready devices simultaneous. Using the DMeX system, up to 4 devices can be connected to the Bravia TV from Sony. A wireless link module may also be attached to the Sony Bravia TV allowing for wireless HD video streaming with a signal that can reach as far as 65 feet from the source. Sony’s DMeX system basically creates an easy way for people to link and use various devices to create a unique digital TV experience.
