The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, USA boasts of having TCF Bank stadium within its campus. It is an outdoor stadium which is often addressed as ‘˜The Bank’ or ‘˜The Gopher Hole’. In 2005 University of Minnesota and TCF happily declared a corporate sponsorship for this stadium. This Bank Stadium is located on the north east side of the Minneapolis University campus. The construction for the stadium started in July 2007 and it was inaugurated in 2009. TCF stadium is the new home field of Minnesota Golden Gopher football club. The first game was played in the stadium in 2009, 12th September between The Air Force Falcons and The Golden Gophers. ‘˜The Gopher Hole’stadium will be the host for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League during 2014 – 2015 seasons as a new stadium is under construction for them at Metrodome. And they will pay$2 million as a cost for the season. The Bank is a horse shoe style stadium with a capacity to 50,805-seat which is expandable to 80000 seats. TCF has 300 indoor seats, 39 luxury suites and 59 log boxes. It is a beautiful giant stadium and a symbol of pride for all the football lovers in USA. It is also well known for its design and structure. Approx. $303.3 million was spent to build this stadium. When the stadium is not in use for Gopher football it can be used for concert, university recreational program and pond hockey outdoor game.

TCF made an agreement with the University of Minnesota for the exclusive naming rights.

This historical stadium has 874 toilets and urinals and 479 are for women’s.

There are 20000 chair back seats in this stadium which are distributed in both upper and lower decks.

The interesting thing is that there are portable seat backs which are also available on rent for season ticket holder in this stadium.

The Gophers and the visiting team enter the field in this stadium through the tunnels. Both the teams have separate tunnels.

The home side of the field in this stadium is in the shade while the visitor side a faces the sun.

It took 1.2 million hours to build this stadium with the help of more than 2000 people who undertook its constructional works.

TCF Stadium has one of the largest main score-board in college sports, it is 107 feet wide and 48 feet tall where as the auxiliary scoreboard is 24 by 43 feet. The score board was built and designed by Daktronics.

The home locker room in the TCF Bank Stadium is one of the largest in its one of its kind both in college or professional football fields.

Tony Dungy, Super Bowl winning coach described the Bank Stadium as ‘˜unbelievable’.

TCF Stadium is the primary leading professional or football stadium to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.

It is the second largest stadium in the Big Ten stadiums in USA as Beaver Stadium at Penn State is the largest with a capacity of 107, 282 seats.
