Fame has nothing to do with one’s color, creed, or skill. Nor does fame rely upon factors like age and education. Not everyone who is educated, dexterous, or grows older becomes famous. Many people become famous for something associated with them, but not earned by them. There are kids who made a name in history by the dint of the events surrounding them, or due to the influence they could have caused under a set of circumstances at a point in time of history (and not by some virtue of their own). There are some experts who are willing to teach ‘how to become famous’ without being themselves touched by fame.

1. Elian Gonzalez

Elian Gonzalez was born to natives of Cardenas, Cuba- Juan Miguel Gonzalez and Elizabeth Broton Rodriguez- on December 6, 1993. In late November 1999, at the age of only six years, Gonzalez, along with his mother and twelve other persons left Cuba from Cardenas. About 80 Km east of Havana, they traveled towards the US in a small aluminum boat with a defective engine. Prior to reaching their destination, the boat broke down and all except three drowned. Gonzalez and the other two survivors were rescued by two Florida fishermen who found Elian tied to an inner tube about 60 miles north of Miami. Elian’s Miami relatives, Lazaro and Delfin Gonzalez took Elian into custody and insisted that he should remain in US for a better future. Elian’s father, backed by the government of Fidel Castro, wanted him back in Cuba. Elian became a symbol of the dispute between a community of Cuban exiles living in United States and the Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro. The US Attorney General fully backed by President Clinton and ordered Elian’s relatives to hand over the boy to the justice department. April 1, 2000 FBI agents rescued Elian at gunpoint and delivered him back to his father in Cuba.

2. Miley Ray Cyrus

Miley Ray Cyrus was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 23, 1992. Her birth name is Destiny Hope Cyrus, but she is better known as Miley Cyrus. Miley is from Smiley, the name given to her on account of her prominent and attractive smiling face in the early child hood. She is an American actress, singer, and song-writer. Miley Cyrus became famous for her role as Miley Stewart in Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel. She recorded music for Hannah Montana (2006) and Hannah Montannah 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, released by Walt Disney. She became the teen idol in 2007. Cyrus was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song; Bolt’s theme song ‘I thought I Lost You’. Time Magazine reported,’ Cyrus’s ‘Phenomenal’ success being due partially to her talent and partially to ‘Disney learning to use its vast, multimedia holdings’ and market Cyrus and Hanna Montana appropriately’.

3. Elizabeth ÃŽâ„¢ of England

Elizabeth was born to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn in Greenwich, England on September 7, 1533. Anne Boleyn was executed for treason when Elizabeth was only 2 years old. She was declared illegitimate and removed from the court. At the age of 21 she was imprisoned in the Tower of London for treason, but she overcame her critical condition and was ultimately crowned as Queen of England. As a kid she was very intelligent, studious and an outstanding player. She was very influential Queen and kept the nation united in the time of Protestants and Catholics controversy. She inspired the troops to defeat Spanish Armada. Addressing the troops during her personal visit at Tilbury, she said, ‘I know I have the body but of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and a king of England too’.

4. Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus

Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus was born in Antium, Italy on August 31, AD 12 and died in Palatine Hill, Rome on January 24, and AD 41 at the age of 28. When he was only 2 or 3 years old boy, he accompanied his father Germanicus on campaigns in the North of Germania. Gaius was dressed in full uniform and the soldiers were amused to see the miniature soldier in uniform including the boots and armor. He was thereupon nicknamed ‘Caligula’ meaning ‘solider in little boots’. Germanicus was poisoned in Syria and Caligula along with his brother ‘Nero’ was banished on charges of treason.

5. Arfa Karim Randhawa

Arfa Karim Randhawa was born in the village; # 4 JB Dewali, Faisalabad, Pakistan on February 2, 1995. Arfa died in Lahore, Pakistan on January 14, 2012. She studied at Lahore Grammar School. She became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCPs) in the World in2004 at the age of 9 years and held the record until 2008.She was invited by Bill Gates to visit the Microsoft Headquarters in the USA. She won the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal and the Salam Pakistan Youth Award. Arfa Karim Randhawa was the youngest recipient of President’s Award for Pride of Performance. Arfa suffered cardiac arrest on December 22, 2011. On January 09, 2012, Chairman of Microsoft, Bill Gates Contacted her parents. He set up a special panel of international doctors who remained in contact with the local doctors through teleconferencing. Bill Gates directed the physicians to adopt ‘ every kind of measure’ for her treatment, however she could not survive.  A park in Lahore has been named ‘Arfa Software Technology Park’.

6. Kim Ung-Yong

Kim Ung-Yong was born in Korea on March 8, 1962. He is considered the earliest walker and talker. He could speak Korean, Japanese, German and English fluently on his second birthday. At the age of 5 he solved complex calculus problem on a Japanese TV show. He was invited by NASA to the United States at the age of 8. Kim was enlisted in Guinness Book of World Records under ‘Highest IQ’ scoring 210.

7. Anne Frank

Annelies Marie Frank was born in Frankfurt am Main, Weimar Germany on June 12,1929 and died in Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, Lower Saxony, nazi Germany in Early March,1945 at the age of 15. She is best remembered for her book The Diary of A Young Girl. She was one of the most famous Jewish child victims of the Holocaust. During the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II, while she was hiding, she wrote her experiences in a diary. This diary was found and published after her death whereupon Anne became famous. The diary is considered one of the most read books and according to the  Time Magazine, Anne Frank is the second most famous child in history.

8. Sylvia Mendez

Sylvia Mendez was born in Santa Ana, California, US in 1936. She is an American Civil Rights Activist .She played a pivotal role in Mandez V. Westminster case which is a mile stone in the history of American Civil Rights Movement. In her time hispanics were not allowed in th schools for whites only. Having been denied admission in such a school, her parents incited the Hispanic Community, who then filed a law suit in a local federal court and won it to end the era of segregated education. Sylvia Mendez was awarded the highest civil honor; Presidential Medal of Freedom on February 15, 2011.

9. Joseph Meister

Joseph Meister was born on February 1876 and died on June 16, 1940. Prior to his case, a rabies case meant hydrophobia followed by a painful and sure death. In 1885, when he was 9 years old, he was bitten by a rabid dog. Louis Pasteur treated him with the rabies vaccine which he had prepared by growing rabies virus in rabbits, weakening them afterwards through drying. He had experimented successfully with this vaccine on dogs. He treated Joseph Meister with this vaccine and treatment was an historical success. Meister later on served the Pasteur Institute as caretaker until his death at the age of 65.

10. King Edward VI

King Edward VI was born to Henry VIII and Jane Seymour in Hampton Court Palace, Middlesex, England on October 12, 1537 and died in Greenwich Palace, Kent, England on July 6, 1555 at the age of 15. King Edward VI is best remembered as the youngest kid who became the king of England and Ireland at the age of 9 and he was also the youngest king to die at the age of just 15. Since he never reached maturity, the realm was governed by the Regency Council during his reign. He fell ill in the age of 15 and the sickness was diagnosed to be terminal

Conclusion:

Not all kids remain untouched by fame, and not all the young kings were famous in history. No one knows exactly the selection method for fame and the only characteristic of fame which can be mentioned with some degree of reliability is its ‘unpredictability’.
