How many Medicare beneficiaries are there in the world?
In 2008, there are more than 91 million people enrolled in a Medicare program all over the world. Of these, 25,257,118 are Canadians, 21.4 million are from Australia and 44,831,390 are from the United States. These three countries represent the governments that have their own Medicare universal health program. This number is based on the Canada Health Act Annual Report for 2007-2008, the Medicare Australia Annual Report 2007-2008, and Kaiser Foundation.
