Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a skilled professional trained in helping individuals deal with different issues in mental health. Its main function is to apply psychotherapy to solve daily problems of people and assist a person in coping with substance abuse. Since they are experts in psychotherapy, they also play a significant role in schools, primary health care facilities, child welfare agencies, employee assistance programs, and hospitals. Some LCSWs work in private settings.
LCSWs are expected to observe high ethical standard and professionalism. Since they are involved in a community setting, they also need to possess excellent communication skills and flexible personality in dealing with a variety of people.
