Kesha Rose Sebert

Kesha Rose Sebert, is a professional singer known as Ke$ha. She was born on the 1st of March, 1987, in San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. Her mother is Pebe Sebert, who is also a singer and song writer. Ke$ha has two brothers named Lagan Serbert and Louis Sage “Louie” Serbert.

Ke$ha and her family has a ‘from rags to riches’ story. When she was still young, Ke$ha’s mother used to bring her to work and make a living. Due to poverty, they had to rely on welfare payments and food stamps to get by. In 1992, Pebe landed a songwriting contract for an upcoming album project which made her and her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Pebe always brought Ke$ha and her brothers to the studio so that she could look after them. By that time, Ke$ha was exposed to music and her mother encouraged her to sing.

In high school, Ke$ha was a diligent student. This was also the time when she learned how to write songs and she got to practice her craft with her mother after school. Despite of her good academic standing, Ke$ha decided to drop out of high school after being convinced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin to return to Los Angeles and pursue her passion in singing.

Ke$ha started as a back- up singer for Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Her full- pledged career took flight after being featured in Flo Rida’s hit song “Right Round” in 2009. Though the song was a big hit, Ke$ha was uncredited but this didn’t soak the young singer’s passion and dream. After signing an album deal with RCA records, different major labels sought to produce her music. Ke$ha made her stage debut at Lollapalooza and not long after this, Ke$ha digitally released her debut single “Tik Tok” that took the music industry by storm. After only two months, her song was already being played on different radio stations. Also, her song was released worldwide and became number one in New Zealand. It reached number one in Billboard 100 Hot 100 and set the weekly record for the most digital downloads of a female artist and became the second best-selling single in a week.
