What is SQL Database?
SQL database refers to Structured Query Language collection of data for computer language. This database is basically designed for the correct management of data especially in Relational Database Management Systems or RDBMS. This data collection started with relational algebra and calculus as its basis. It has very wide scope including data query, insert, update and delete. It also includes schema creation and modification as well as data access control. It is basically considered the most widely and popularly used database language.
You could understand SQL database through knowing where it basically came from. In 1970, the database software called System R was created by IBM laboratories. However, in order to understand this software, a database language is required. SQL database is the invented data collection used to correctly decode the IBM software. It was initially called SEQUEL which is still the alternative pronunciation for the term. However, it was changed to simple and plain SQL.
SQL database is now entering its third decade of being a popular and helpful tool in the software industry. It is flexible to use for more and more users because of its distributed database support. These are data which could run on or compatible with several computer networks. In fact, it is considered the standard database query language as it received certification from ANSI and ISO. It is a well established entity which is based on a wide array of well established online database applications.
Industry level and academic needs are served through SQL database. It is even the best and widely used tool for corporate servers and individual computers for personal use. SQL-based applications are now more and more become increasingly affordable especially for regular users with its continuous progress in the technological arena. That’s because there are now open-source SQL database solutions including MySQL and more.
