Los Angeles is the biggest city in the state of California and one of the biggest in the US and around the world. This city is known for most of the world as one of the US’ entertainment capital. Hollywood is arguably the district that defines Los Angeles as an entertainment center not only the US but for the rest of the world. Many movies and television shows are conceptualized and made in the Hollywood area and in several districts across Los Angeles.
With residents of almost 4 million, Los Angeles is the center of a metropolitan area in the West Coast of the US. Over the years, Los Angeles has also become an international and global city with various businesses thriving in the huge city. Although other industries also thrive in Los Angeles, show business is the most popular business in Los Angeles. Many movie-making studios are based in the Hollywood area or the whole of Los Angeles. Big names such as Warner Brothers, Columbia, and Paramount Pictures for example all have studios in the Los Angeles area. These studios and other production outfits made the movie industry in the US grow as big as it is today.
Being an entertainment capital, Los Angeles is also known to be the “Home of the Stars”. Since many movies and television shows are filmed at the various studios and locations across the Hollywood district or all across the city of Los Angeles, many entertainment stars also consider Los Angeles home. Celebrities in the movie and TV industry share exclusive neighborhoods with celebrities from the other fields of entertainment like sports stars, musicians, and other artists. Nearby Anaheim, which is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, is also home to the first amusement park by the Walt Disney Company. Disneyland is very famous for local and international tourists and the company behind it is also popular for its animated feature films. Disney’s association with the city of Los Angeles further enhanced the city’s moniker as one of the world’s entertainment and movie cities.
