Bottle Service is the express admission into exclusive night clubs. Availing this service has its own good points like getting the privilege of instant access, skipping the line-up outside the club, exclusive service of bartenders, and having your own table to enjoy with your friends.
Earlier forms of bottle service can be witnessed in Japan during World War II where unfinished bottles of liquor are being stored for future sales. Then in 1998, Paris nightclub Les Bains Douches used bottle service to deal with their customer’s high demand. The Tunnel in New York City used this service later in 1993 being followed by Spy Bar in 1995 and Chaos bar in 1996. These modern form of bottle service created an image that people availing bottle services are VIPs. Clubs in Miami and Las Vegas started to offer this service in early 2000s.
Despite of the benefits and an “elite†image this privilege brings, bottle service has its own downsides. Promoters and club hosts will always try to sell you bottle service because of their commissions from it. Some of them will ask for a service charge after you make a reservation. Also, the price of drinks and liquors being served during this service is way too higher than its original cost. Though getting a bottle service gives you the easiest way to get into exclusive night clubs, the truth is this isn’t the ONLY way to get into one and have fun. You can always gain entry same way as buying tickets for a concert or a baseball game. Usually, tickets are for sale in advance and these much cheaper than bottle service. Lastly, let’s break the illusion of many. Getting a bottle service does not, in any way, make you a VIP (unless you’re spending thousands and thousands of dollars). Any regular patron can purchase it and promoters only sell the idea of VIP experience. Also, special events and DJ concerts will affect the already-high cost of bottle service and its minimum purchase requirements. It is better to purchase your tickets in advance to avoid all of these.
