Differences Between the OnePlus One and the iPhone 6

The iPhone 6 is a pampered lot because of a high profile parent’”Apple. The OnePlus One is definitely an underdog with a much lesser known first-time father’”the Chinese OnePlus. But then the phone is demanding attention from even the staunchest of aficionados of high-end phones from around the world. No wonder; the startup company has studied the best of Apple and offered the same and probably better with its first launch at a much lesser price. Here are a few of the differences between the two ‘œsmarties’ on the block.

OnePlus One: Has a polycarbonate frame, offering a tight grip.

Apple iPhone 6: One of the thinnest and sleekest handsets in the market. The rear of the phone is made of anodized aluminum, and the edges are smoother and sleeker.

OnePlus One: Has a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. It has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system-on-chip clocked at 2.5 GHz and 3 GB of RAM.

iPhone 6: Has a Retina HD 4.7-inch display and a fingerprint-resistant 326 ppi screen with 1334 x 750 resolution as well as a 1400:1 contrast ratio and wider viewing angles.

OnePlus One: Includes either 16 GB or 64 GB of non-expandable storage.

iPhone 6: Comes in 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB models.

OnePlus One: The rear-facing camera in OnePlus One features a 13 megapixel, Sony-manufactured Exmor IMX214 sensor, alongside a 5-megapixel, front-facing camera.

OnePlus One allows 4 K DCI videos at 24 fps, 4 K UHD video at 30 fps, 1080p video at 60 fps, and 720p video at 120 fps. It also allows for time-lapse video and slow-motion video at 60 fps.

iPhone: The rear camera protrudes a bit and offers 8 megapixel with 1.5-micron pixels and an f/2.2 aperture. The front-facing camera features 1.2 megapixel.

The iPhone can record 1080p video at 60 fps. It also records time-lapse and slow-motion videos at 240 fps.

OnePlus One: Supports LTE networks.

iPhone 6: LTE support is expanded. The cloud-based features of iOS 8 works well and supports fast wireless technologies.

Other features
OnePlus One: Supports near-field communications (NFC) for Android Pay. Enables voice commands even when the phone is not in use. Can launch favorite apps by drawing preset gestures on screen.

iPhone 6: Adds support for NFC, which is used exclusively for Apple Pay. It also offers Touch ID Fingerprint Scanner, Voice over LTE (VoLTE), and WiFi calling.
