How many neutrons are there in the oxygen atom?


The oxygen atom has 8 neutrons or neutral subatomic particles that are found in its atomic nuclei. It is the most abundant element that can be found on Earth. One-fifth of the Earth’s atmosphere and almost half of its crust is made up of oxygen. It is also the third most abundant element in the universe by mass.
