How many moons does Neptune have?

14 known moons

It is important to know that Neptune has 14 known moons.  Triton is the largest one.  It was discovered by William Lassell on October 10, 1846.  This was just 17 days after the discovery of Neptune itself.  Keep in mind the fact that the moons of Neptune can be divided into two groups: regular and irregular.  The first category includes the seven inner moons, which follow circular orbits lying in the equatorial plane of Neptune. Needless to say, the second group consists of all other moons including Triton.
