How many knee replacements are performed each year?
In the February 2007 issue of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, it is affirmed that about a million knee replacements (or arthroplasties) are performed in the world each year ‘â€œ around half of them in the US only. There are two kinds of knee replacements: partial or total. The first knee arthroplasty was performed in 1968.
