How many Italian immigrants are there in America?


The 2008 American Community Survey, conducted by the US Census Bureau, estimates the population of Italian immigrants in the US equals 411,469 ‘“ 1% of the foreign-born population. Most of the Italian immigrants (75%) are naturalized US citizens, and entered the country before 1990 (87%). The median age of this population is 62.6 years, against 36.7 years for the American population in general.
