How many immigrants to the US are there each year?

According to the 2009 National Population Projection, produced by the US Census Bureau, the immigrant population in the US is increased approximately by 1,250,000 per year. The immigrants come mainly from Latin America (over 50%), followed by those from Asia (around 20%). The vast majority of this population (over 80%) lives under illegality.
