How many ethnic groups are there in Afghanistan?

It is important to know that Afghanistan is a multiethnic society. This signifies that the population of the country is divided into a wide variety of ethnolinguistic groups. Moreover, the ethnic groups of the country are Pashtun, Tajik, Hazara, Uzbek, Aimak, Turkmen, Baloch, Pashai, Nuristani, Gujjar, Arab, Brahui, Pamiri and some others.  Afghanistan has 14 ethnic groups.   Keep in mind that 27.5 million people live in Afghanistan.  Most of the Afghans belong to the Pashtun group.  The second most popular ethnic group is Tajik.
