Miley Cyrus is one of the biggest young stars in the music industry.  She has sold millions of records around the world, performed in successful concerts in many places, has a handful of chart-topping hits, and even starred in a movie. Since her pre-teen days, Miley has become one of the world’s most popular, successful, and controversial celebrities.  Most people may know Miley as Hannah Montana or the sexy singer that she is today but many of them do not know much about these facts about her:

Fact 1:  Miley Cyrus was named after her cute baby smile.  As a baby, she was said to be smiling all the time and this led to many people referring to her as “Smiley”.  From “Smiley”, she eventually got the nickname “Miley”.

Fact 2:   About 1000 girls got beaten for the Hannah Montana role.  Back in 2004, Miley Cyrus edged out 1000 other hopefuls for the role that basically catapulted her to super-stardom.  Hannah Montana became a huge success for Disney Channel and this started the highly successful career of Miley Cyrus.

Fact 3:   Miley’s Best of Both Worlds Tour in 2007 had a total of 14 days extension.  With the huge success of her alter-ego Hannah Montana from the TV series, Miley basically swept the music pop world with packed concerts including her “Best of Both Worlds” tour that got a 2 week extension to accommodate her loyal fans.

Fact 4:   Miley Cyrus is only a screen name up until 2008.  Miley was actually born as Destiny Hope Cyrus but in 2008, she legally changed her official name to Miley Ray Cyrus.

Fact 5:   Dolly Parton is actually the grandmother of Miley Cyrus.  This simply means that Miley and her country singer dad Billy Ray Cyrus are not the only successful and popular artists in their clan.

Fact 6:  Miley suffers from a mild heart ailment called tachycardia.  When a person has this heart problem, it simply means that his/her heart beats just a little faster than a normal heart would.

Fact 7:   Despite some controversies hounding her career, Miley Cyrus is actually a supporter of various charities including gay rights groups. Her “equals sign” tattoo on her finger is said to symbolize supposed equality for all sexes including gays.

Fact 8:   Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” music video is a Vevo record holder.  viewed by almost 20 million fans across the globe, this popular music video became Vevo’s record holder for number of views in a span of 24 hours.

Fact 9:  Miley is one of the richest young stars in the US music industry.  Back when she was still a child star in Hannah Montana, she was already considered among the top 10 highest paid artists in the child star category.  By 2011, she emerged as the richest teen star in the world.

Fact 10:  Miley loves pets including pigs.  Besides her love for dogs, Miley also has a pet pig which she named Bubba Sue. This pig also became famous and controversial as its nails were painted red by Miley.  This move by Miley was not well accepted by some people but made the pig famous just like her.
