Kevin Durant is one of NBA’s brightest stars.  With multiple accolades since his school days up to being a professional at the NBA, Kevin Durant is currently playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder team.  Most basketball die-hard fans and fanatics may already know some of Durant’s accomplishments, but the following are the highlights of the highly successful life of Kevin Durant:

Fact 1:  Kevin Durant currently stands at 6 feet 10 inches and was considered too tall back in his school days.  Many of his classmates were said to have teased him over his height.

Fact 2:  Kevin Durant’s major accomplishments in the NBA include being a 3-time scoring champion and a 3-time All-Star player.  Aside from his shooting skills, Durant is a proven likeable basketball star on and off the court.

Fact 3:  Durant boasts of being part of the USA Dream Team in the 2012 Olympics that won gold.  This accomplishment is very much coveted among basketball players around the world.

Fact 4:  Durant’s jersey number 35 is chosen in honor of his childhood mentor and coach Charles Craig.  Back in his early basketball days in Maryland, Craig or “Big Chucky” was his coach and father-figure at the Amateur Athletic Union but was unfortunately murdered at the young age of 35.

Fact 5:  7 inches was the total increase in height when Kevin Durant was still in high school.  This welcome development in his body made Durant become part of the elite First Team of Parade magazine during his senior year.

Fact 6:  Kevin Durant only spent 1 year in college before making himself eligible for the NBA Draft. As a freshman of the University of Texas, Durant is considered to be the first Texan to have included himself in the NBA draft and to have gotten drafted afterwards during his freshmen year.

Fact 8:  Kevin Durant achieved instant success upon being drafted to the Seattle Supersonics back in 2008.  First, he inked a huge 60-million dollar deal for 6 years with Nike off the court and became NBA Rookie of the Year with this hard work in the court.

Fact 9:  Kevin Durant did not forget about college even after achieving success in the NBA.  In the off-season, Kevin Durant continued schooling at the University of Texas.

Fact 10:  Kevin Durant has pop star dreams.  Many fans of the basketball star may not know of Durant’s inclination for music.  Durant is said to be fond of rap music and also aspires to produce music in his future world after his NBA career.

Fact 11:  Durant carries a Bible with him during his games at the NBA.  When asked about what’s inside his backpack that he brings along during post-game press conferences, a Bible was one of the interesting items inside it.

Fact 12:  Kevin Durant is also a loyal Nike endorser.  Despite being offered more money by Adidas during his rookie year with the Seattle Supersonics, Durant apparently turned the down because of his loyalty to the Nike brand which he basically wore “all his life”.
