Carrie Underwood, who doesn’t know about her, right?! And if you are an ardent fan; you almost know everything about her life, her songs, her movies, her song lyrics, her fashion statements, and her press statements. And it wouldn’t be surprising if you are following her every tweet or social media update! And as a true fan, you have probably researched all her likes and dislikes, favorite color, favorite food, favorite holiday spot, and much more!

 Fact 1:

Carrie Underwood was born Carrie Marie Underwood on 10th March, 1983 in Oklahoma, USA. She spent her childhood in Checotah farm and obtained a degree in Mass Communications from the Northeastern State University in the year 2006. In fact, her time on the show that shot her to fame helped her earn the credits she needed to successfully complete her degree program.

 Fact 2:

We all know that she was the winner of American Idol in 2005, but did you know that she never underwent any formal schooling in voice training or singing! However, singing was not untouched waters; she started singing at her local church as early as three years of age.

 Fact 3:

“Some Hearts” is considered her debut album; however, her first single was released on 18th October, 2005 in radio stations and was called “Jesus Take The Wheel”. This song got the “Single of the Year” award and her debut was certified 7x platinum, 27 months after its initial release!

 Fact 4:

It is not surprising to know that she has a lot of fans, but did you know that these fans go by the name “Care Bears”. Ever wondered what she is a fan of? Here are a few things she loves – ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’, horror movies, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma Sooners, and Boston Red Sox.

Carrie was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and in her video for “All American Girl” you can see her wearing the letters.

Carrie has two siblings, both sisters, with whom she continues to maintain close relations. Married to Mike Fisher, a hockey player, they have a son.

After her success as a singer, she has been bestowed with several awards and honors; here are a few – Included in Time Magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential People in 2014, inducted in the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in the year 2009, Top Female Vocalist in 2007, and the list continues…

Carrie declared her lifestyle choice of vegetarianism during an episode of American Idol. However, this has not gone down well with all her fans, especially those in cattle farming regions. She has even been booed while on-stage in these regions.

If there are two things that she always wants to and does keep in order it is her kitchen pantry and DVD collection. I guess that is not what you were expecting!! She ensures her refrigerator is properly arranged and her discs are always in alphabetical order. In fact, her urge for keeping things in order almost makes her a bit neurotic.

 Fact 10:

Becoming a part of the American Idol and the subsequent graduation to fame not only changed every aspect of her life but also allowed her to experience things she had not done before. And one of them was travelling by air! Before that she was just another ordinary small town girl whose life revolved around her little town.
