It is the first grade card that is available in the market. Hence, it is considered as the most expensive Pokemon card that has the highest grade.

Pokemon cards are used in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. It is based on the Pokemon video game series that was first published by the Media Factory in 1996 October in Japan. However, in June 2003, Nintendo published the card game along with the Pokemon video games. There are two types of Pokemon cards, namely the Basic Pokemon and the Evolved Pokemon.

The cards that were printed in 1999 or 2000 fall under the category of worthy cards and are therefore expensive in comparison to the others. Other markings that prove the rarity of the Pokemon cards is the star mark and the star H or 3 stars are extra rare cards and are therefore very special. These cards have the highest potential and so card collectors value them greatly.

Fact 5 Why The Pokémon Card “Holy Grail of Pokémon” Is So Precious

This particular card “Holy Grail of Pokemon” is so precious and is fetching $100,000 because only 4 cards of this kind exists in the entire world. They were released in Japan around 1998. This particular card known as Pokemon Illustrator or Pikachu Illustrator stands alone as the most expensive Pokémon card until now and more so because only five of these cards were awarded to the 5 winners of Pokémon Card Game Illustration Contest held in Japan. The sixth card belongs to the TCG Blog and is not being circulated anywhere.

Fact 6 Price Range Of Other Pokémon Cards

The card owners sell the Pokemon cards at various prices. The prices vary from $610 to $99 and even less according to the markings on the cards. The star-marked cards fetch more than those without the stars and other markings do.
