LPG is the short version of Liquefied Petroleum Gas. LPG is an altered chemical compound of natural gas though LPG and natural gas are both hydrocarbons. LPG is made up of propane, which has 8 hydrogen atoms and 3 carbon atoms, and butane, which has 10 hydrogen atoms and 4 carbon atoms. When a comparison is made between methane and the two gases in LPG gas, methane appears to be a gas that is much lighter than the other two.
