What is Lalaloopsy?
Lalaloopsy refers to a popular line of rag dolls made by a company based in California, USA. MGA Entertainment is the company behind the popularity of Lalaloopsy dolls. It is also the same company that brought the popular Bratz doll series. It was in 2010 when the line of Lalaloopsy dolls was launched under the name “Bitty Buttons”. But shortly after the official launch, the doll name was changed to its current name, Lalaloopsy.
Lalaloopsy dolls are marketed with associations on sewing. The concept of sewing is said to represent the use of all things, new and old. The dolls are promoted to kids with the idea of not wasting any item, even if they are old already. By sewing things, old things will then become new again. With the tag line “Sew magical, sew easy”, Lalaloopsy dolls have become popular among young girls ever since the holidays of 2010.
The Lalaloopsy line is composed of 8 dolls with different names and unique characters. Each doll has different sewn dresses and they all represent different races. The dolls are made this way to teach female kids about diversity and having different backgrounds in life. For some people, the supposed storyline behind Lalaloopsy dolls are what made them famous not only among kids but also among parents. Through these dolls, young girls can be taught valuable lessons on accepting what one is regardless of color and/or ethnicity. The dolls also represent different personalities which could still come together as one group of friends for example.
With different looks and personalities attached to each of the Lalaloopsy dolls, many girls can also choose their preferred doll based on their own personality or preferences. The dolls are also said to represent reaching for life’s dreams with one’s own unique personality and abilities. With all these concepts associated with the dolls, the Lalaloopsy brand has continued to grow in popularity.
