Hidradenitis suppurativa is a medical condition that affects the skin since those suffering from it have very small to at least marble-size lumps under their skins. It is a chronic medical condition. Many refer to this skin disease as acne inversa. The lumps usually develop in groin and armpits, in areas where the skin rubs against each other.

The lumps from this medical condition are often painful and can cause the skin to break open. When they break open, puss that is foul smelling comes out. In most cases, will are formed beneath the skin in the tunnels that connect the lumps.

Hidradenitis suppurativa usually develops in the puberty stages and can last for how many years. If left untreated and then it can get worse over time. It is essential that those suffering from it get the medical treatment needed.

Symptoms of Hidradenitis suppurativa

Those suffering from Hidradenitis suppurativa may experience several symptoms before they seek medical treatments for this disease. The symptoms may include having blackheads that comes in pairs or looks like double barreled.

Patients may also have some lesions or bumps in the affected areas. These tender and most often red bumps are enlarged and can break open. The bumps when cracked open may emit foul smelling pus. A patient may also feel the burning, itching and sweating excessively in the affected areas.

The lumps come in pea sizes and may be painful. They are also hard and they are located beneath the skin. If left untreated, these lumps can grow big and eventually be inflamed. The bumps may also become sore and the wounds from these bumps tend to heal quite slowly. A person with leaking bumps may have some scars from them if left untreated.

This skin condition can worsen over time and eventually spread in other areas of the body. For example, a person who has the lumps in their armpits may soon have them in their groin.
