What is ‘DLF’ in cricket?

‘DLF’ or ‘DLF Limited’ refers to the company named Delhi Land & Finance.  Many cricket fans in India and other parts of the world often ask about it because ‘DLF’ is frequently seen and posted alongside the name of the Indian Premier League.  In most instances the entire cricket league is called the DLF Indian Premier League.  The basic reason for this is that ‘DLF,’ or the Delhi Land & Finance company, is the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League.  With millions of dollars paid by the DLF Company, it will be the title sponsor of this league for 5 straight years starting in 2008.

‘DLF,’ meanwhile, is considered the biggest when it comes to the commercial real estate business in India.  Being a large company makes it a no-brainer that DLF chose the IPL to promote its brand and become the league’s title sponsor for five years.   This particular company was established back in 1946 and holds its official headquarters in the city of New Delhi.  The current head of the company is none other than Kushal Pal Singh, considered the top property developer in the whole world.  Singh is also part of the elite Top 100 richest people listing of Forbes magazine.
