Aartemis refers to a virus that commonly affects the browsing experience of infected computers.  Many people refer to aartemis as a browser-hijacker because it automatically loads its own webpage when the browser is launched.  Even if the supposed default webpage is already configured, computers that are infected with the aartemis virus will not be able to launch the desired webpage but rather will be redirected to the aartemis site.

Another annoyance of the aartemis malware infection is that it also insert several ads on the browser regardless of what sites or pages are visited.  Visitors of different websites for example will be bombarded with multiple ads that pop-up here and there because of aartemis infection.  The main target of the aartemis virus is the web browser.  Every time a web browser is launched, the aartemis virus will be activated and cause severe annoyances like page redirection and pre-loaded advertisements among others.  The same aartemis virus will also keep track of browsing history and search details. Users may also experience redirected searches to bogus sites or back to the aartemis website.  For most people, having the aartemis malware infection is a huge annoyance and disruption to online activities.

The aartemis virus is said to be operated by the people behind Koyoter Technology, a known group for releasing malware that hijacks web browsers and redirect internet searches.  Most people unknowingly get the aartemis virus through several programs and application downloads over the internet.  With new apps and games released on a regular basis, many people also download them to their computers, laptops, and mobile devices.  Some of these downloads are legit while others are run by bogus sites that send out malware files such as aartemis.  While many anti-virus software may be able to detect the removal of aartemis, there are times that manual removal of this malware may be necessary.  In this case, the services of computer experts may be needed in order to properly remove all files associated with the aartemis malware.
