How many vending machines are there in schools?
80% of the US schools have vending machines
It is important to know that in the United States, under pressure from parents and anti-obesity advocates, many school districts moved to ban sodas, junk foods, and candy from vending machines. Studies show that students in suburban schools had more access to vending machines and other competitive food venues than students in urban schools (53% vs. 44%). Needless to say, compared with public schools, private schools had more snack bars on campus with more access to candy and salty snacks. Approximately 80% of the schools have vending machines.
