How many unemployed were there during Great Depression?

It is extremely important to know that the Great Depression was a severe worldwide economic depression in the decade preceding World War II.  Did you know that 25% of the Americans were unemployed?  In most of the countries, the Great Depression started in 1930 and lasted until the late 1930s or middle 1940s.  Great Depression is considered to be the longest, most widespread, and deepest depression of the 20th century.  It is interesting to know that the Great Depression had devastating effects in both poor and rich countries.
