The exact number of Stingray deaths is not known.  According to statistics, there have been only 17 Stingray deaths recorded worldwide.  It is extremely difficult to keep track.  Needless to say, Stingray attacks are not internationally counted.  The most popular Stingray death is “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin’s death.  He died as a result of a freak stingray attack.  His death was a real shock for so many people worldwide.  The animal’s barbed tail generally delivers venom that causes excruciating pain, but it almost never kills.
