How many stars are there in the Milky Way?

Between 200-400 billion stars

It is impossible to count the stars in the Milky Way.  It is said that there are at least 100 billion planets and between 200-400 billion stars in the Milky Way.  It is important to know the fact that the Milky Way is the galaxy that contains our Solar System.  Keep in mind the fact that the space between the stars is filled by a disk of gas and dust called the interstellar medium.  It is interesting to know that the term “Milky Way” is a translation of the Latin via lactea.
