How many spinal nerves are there?

31 pairs

It is interesting to know that in humans there are 31 pairs of spinal nerves: 8 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar, 5 sacral, and 1 coccygeal. Keep in mind that each pair connects the spinal cord with a specific region of the body.  The entire mechanism is extremely interesting.  Near the spinal cord, each spinal nerve branches into two roots. One of them is composed of sensory fibres.  Needless to say, the other is composed of motor fibres.
