How many sets are there per muscle group?
It is difficult to provide an answer to this question. Some people consider that a beginner should have 3-4 sets per muscle group while a more advanced person should have 6-8 sets per muscle group. It is important to keep it within an hour exercise time. Anyway, the main idea is that the number of sets per muscle group totally depends on the muscle group and on the individual. People generally do 3-4 exercises for smaller muscle groups like calves, biceps and triceps. On the contrary, for bigger muscle groups such as quads/hams, back, chest and shoulders men do 5-6 exercises.
