How many seed leaves does a monocot have?

It is interesting to know that a monocot has only one seed leaf.  Not too many people know that monocot comes from monocotyledon.  It is interesting to know that the seed leaf is usually the same shape as the adult leaf.  Keep in mind that it is long and thin.  Moreover, the leaf veins run parallel to the central midrib.  There are some cases when the adult leaves are pinnate, as in many palms, but the veins are parallel on each leaflet.
