How many residents are there per congressional district?
There are 435 Congressional districts and have approximately 693,000 people living within them. Keep in mind that these districts are normally redrawn every ten years following the National Census. It is important to know that every state has two Senators who represent the entire state. Moreover, this number is based on population, but each state has at least one. Needless to say, over time, the region and demographics represented in a district can change substantially. Not too many people know that districts sometimes retain the same boundaries while changing their district numbers.
