How many Nuns on Brink of Precipitous Drop are there?
It is not known, nuns appear to be dying out as an institution
Unfortunately, statistics do not look too good. Believe it or not, nuns appear to be dying out as an institution. The exact number is not known. It is interesting to know that The Times found out in a survey of 1,049 sisters in the United States and Puerto Rico that only 3% were 40 or younger. Moreover, 37% were older than 70 and 12% were more than 80. Keep in mind that the median age for nuns in the survey was 65.
