How many low income families are there in the US?
1 in 2 people are low income
Believe it or not, 1 in 2 people are low income in the United States of America. Statistics do not look too good at all. The main idea is that middle class is shrinking as unemployment stays high. Keep in mind that more than 1 in 4 people need emergency food assistance. Studies show that about 97.3 million Americans fall into a low-income category. Keep in mind that this category is formed by the persons earning between 100 and 199 percent of the poverty level.
