When it comes to the number of lost laptops, things do not look too good. For example, did you know that more than 12,000 laptops are lost each week at U.S. airports? The study was conducted by the Ponemon Institute. Believe it or not, only one-third of laptops lost and found in airports are reclaimed. Moreover, according to the FBI, losses due to laptop theft were more than $3.5 million in 2005. It is interesting to know that the average theft of a laptop might cost a company $31,975.
