Lloyd’â„¢s latest Annual Report informs that, by the end of 2009, there were 84 syndicates; from December 2007 to December 2009, 12 new syndicates were established. Each syndicate is a group of Lloyd’â„¢s members in charge of insurance underwriting. As defined on the 2007 Annual Report, Lloyd’â„¢s is a mutualized market rather than an insurance company.
