How many kanban cards should there be?
(C – 1) * S = D * L.
There is no fixed number of cards for it and depends on the company’â„¢s production flow. The above formula is an example used by a kanban planning software to calculate the number of kanban cards, provided by Oracle. In this formula, C is the number of kanban cards; S stands for the kanban size; D represents the average daily demand; L corresponds to the lead time (in number of days) to fill one kanban.
