3.
Ammonium sulfate, whose molecular formula is (NH4)2SO4, contains 3 ions: 2 ammonium ions and one sulfate ion. Ammonium (NH4+) is a polyatomic cation which results from the addition of 1 proton to Ammonia (NH3). Sulfate (SO42-), on the other hand, is a polyatomic anion (or oxyanion) composed by a sulfur atom enclosed by four oxygen atoms arranged as a tetrahedron.
