What does HUD signify?  Well, HUD comes from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  This is a Cabinet department in the Executive branch of the United States federal government.  There were 10600 HUD employees in 2004.  HUD was formed in 1965.  It has an annual budget of approximately $48.5 billion.   It is extremely important to know that HUD’s mission is to create strong, sustainable communities and quality affordable homes for all.  Moreover, HUD’s mission is also to protect consumers.
