Statistics show the fact that unfortunately there are 57849 homeless veterans.  It is interesting to know the fact that homeless veterans are predominantly male, with roughly 8% being female. Most of the homeless veterans are single.  They live in urban areas.  Not too many people know the fact that homeless veterans suffer from mental illness, alcohol and/or substance abuse.  It is interesting to know the fact that about 12% of the adult homeless population is represented by veterans.  Approximately 40% of all homeless veterans are African American or Hispanic.
