How many germs are there on the hands?

Millions.

There are millions of germs that can be found on the human hand. An estimate by Dr. Julie Segre from the US National Human Genome Research Institute places the number at one million bacteria per square centimeter of skin. The Minnesota Department of Health, on the other hand, places the estimate at only 1,500 bacteria per square centimeter of the hand.
