How many fractures per year are there?

Not known

It is impossible to count the exact number of fracture cases per year.  Anyway, specialists consider that one out of every two Americans will fracture a bone and receive treatment from an orthopedic surgeon before reaching their 65th birthday.  Needless to say, the risk of sustaining a fracture up to age 65 is several times higher than the risk of stroke, breast cancer, prostate cancer, or adult-onset diabetes.  This is definitely something.  Keep in mind that a fracture requiring orthopedic services occurs about every 14 seconds in the United States of America.
