There are around 1,200 federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in the United States as of 2009. This is according to the Fact Sheet on America’â„¢s Health Centers published by the National Association of Community Health Centers in October 2009. These FQHCs operate in 7,500 delivery sites and serve about 20 million patients annually.
