There are 1,389 inspectors of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with the Office of Regulatory Affairs in 2005. This shows a decrease of 253 inspectors since 2003. This is according to a study made by Fadwa Al-Taher that was published by the American Chemical Society in 2009. The US News & World Report reported the same figures in January 2008.
