How many entrepreneurs are there in US?

The statistics show that the number of entrepreneurs in US is somewhere between 50 and 84 million.  It is important to know that, according to Census bureau,  there were more than 27 million small businesses in the U.S.  Moreover, from 2008, around 1.9 million small businesses are less than five years old.  Needless to say, only about 230,000 new businesses with employees that are started every year survive to age five.  In 2008 there were 6 million small businesses with employees.  If we discuss about the number of entrepreneurs in the world, there are almost 400 million in 54 countries.
