How many eligible voters are there in Canada?

More than 24000000 in 2008

In Canada there have been more than 24000000 eligible voters in 2008.  These persons were registered voters in Canada’s general election.  Not too many people know that 58.8% was the voter participation rate in Canada’s general election in 2008.  Statistics show that 78.3% represents the proportion of people in Canada aged 18 and over who reported that they had voted in the last federal election.  Needless to say, 89.4% represents the proportion of people in Canada aged 55 and over who reported that they had voted in the last federal election.
