How many eggs does a woman have?
1 to 2 million, at birth.
A baby girl is born with one to two million eggs. As a girl ages until she reaches menopause, most of the eggs (99%) are destroyed in a process called ovarian follicle atresia, while only 1% enter ovulation. At the onset of menstruation, or puberty, only around 400,000 eggs remain. The depletion of eggs is marked by menopause.
