How many dwarfs are there in America?

About 30,000.

There are about 30,000 dwarfs in America. This is based on a statement released by the Little People of America in celebration of the National Dwarfism Awareness Month in October 2009. The U.S. Library of Medicine through its Medline Plus portal describes the incidence of dwarfism to be 1 in 25,000 people.

Tonight, I met one of the most beautiful little people—a very pretty, intelligent and gracious young woman at a party which I attended. She was the daughter of the woman who invited me. Not being aware that my new friend had a dwarf daughter, I was quite surprised.

I had not wanted to go to the party, and was actually hoping I could just make it through the two or three hours, and then go home to the comfort of my cozy house. But the longer I stayed, the less I wanted to go home early, and I think the friend’s daughter had something to do with that, since she was really a treasure. She made the party worth attending.

When I think back to every dwarf I’d ever had personal contact with, I have found that without a doubt, they’ve all been quite pretty or handsome, and easy to talk to.

As the party was ending, and I was saying my goodbyes, I got down on my knees and the hostess’ daughter and I hugged each other.

    Sincerely,

    Carol Monka
